Schooley Mitchell

The Flying Free Foundation is a philanthropic effort borne out of Schooley Mitchell, North America’s largest independent telecommunications and merchant services consulting firm. Giving back to the community has always been paramount at Schooley Mitchell, which regularly supports many different charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Multicultural Association of Perth-Huron, to name just a few.

In fall 2015, a holiday-giving initiative to provide Christmas gifts to youth in Attawapiskat was spearheaded by staff at Schooley Mitchell’s Head Office in Stratford, Ontario. A shipment of Christmas stockings filled with toys, books, clothing and other essentials were sent to a Grade 1 class at Kattawapiskak Elementary School. Attawapiskat Christmas donationWhen the state of emergency was declared in Attawapiskat in April 2016, Schooley Mitchell knew there was more work to be done. The Flying Free Foundation was established under the guidance of Schooley Mitchell President Beth McMillan, with the goal of helping the people of Attawapiskat First Nation and others in the Mushkegowuk Council. The Flying Free Foundation is preparing to launch its first two initiatives: a sustainable industry project and Shannen’s Corner, a children’s art project.
